Jonny has lived and worked all over the Globe, from a remote island in Arnhem Land, Australia to downtown Toronto in Canada. He spent his early life in Papua New Guinea before moving to Australia, where he spent his teenage years. Another relocation led Jonny to Canada for his twenties, where he worked in a coordination role for several different organisations. Jonny holds a Master of Development Practice from the University of Queensland and majored in Planning for Social Development.
Jonny is the administrator of the Stolen Wages class action, which seeks the recovery of wages withheld by the State of Queensland prior to 1972. He is also responsible for outreach work with indigenous communities across the State. Jonny’s adventures around the world have shaped his values and working style; he believes in the value of a mind well-travelled and loves diverse cultures and people. Showcasing his own diverse experience, Jonny is fluent in Tok Pisin, a Papua New Guinea creole.
To keep in shape, Jonny enjoys mountain climbing and running bush trails. As though he weren’t interesting enough, Jonny is also a music production buff and has been known to disappear for days on end while working on music projects.
